Over the last 12 months we have been conducting a research and design project, exploring how a temporarily vacant plot of land on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park could be used to provide lasting opportunities for independent businesses and local people.
This site is called Clarnico Quay.
The project started with a series of interviews, events and surveys to understand local needs and the community surrounding the site.
Based on the findings developed through this process, we have developed a design proposal and business plan for a new site that could offer a variety of forms of workspace for small businesses and local creative workers.
Our proposals also explore how the site would function as an open public space, offer new facilities and services to local residents, and connect its members with the community around them.
