Make Shift transforms underused urban space to unlock opportunities for local people and independent businesses.
Our first project transformed a derelict plot of land in the heart of Brixton, South London, into a thriving community of more than 50 independent businesses working in food, retail, social enterprise and the creative industries.
Currently under construction, Peckham Levels is converting seven levels of an underused multi-storey carpark into a cultural and creative complex for artists, makers, entrepreneurs and local people.
We are now exploring ideas for a new temporary site near Hackney Wick, in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We are working with the local community to design a concept that can offer new opportunities to local people.
We want to help create a world where everyone has the opportunity to turn their passion into a business. Where entrepreneurial spirit connects communities, reduces inequality, and supports a fairer, happier and more sustainable society.
