Job title: Maintenance Manager

Reporting to: Site General Managers & Head of Operations

Salary: Salary: £28,000 - £32,000, depending on experience

Holiday: 30 days holiday plus bank holidays

Working hours: 40 hours minimum/week

Location: Between Pop Brixton and Peckham Levels

Peckham Levels aims to support local talent and enterprise, and also to create a real community asset for Peckham. We bring our members together with local people, businesses, groups and schools to share the benefits of the space.

All our members are independent businesses, mostly drawn from the local area, and all of them participate in a structured scheme of community projects. Our scheme includes a series of initiatives offering free event space, training, education and employment opportunities for Peckham’s residents. A percentage of all the project's profits will be used to create a Community Fund that invests in local businesses and social projects.

About the role

You will inspect different equipment and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals.

About you

This is a start-up environment, so you will have to have the ability to work independently and be proactive. You must be self-organised and confident working methodically and accurately.

Key responsibilities & duties

●     Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.

●     Performing preventative maintenance.

●     Handling basic repairs and maintenance.

●     Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.

●     Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.

●     Repairing machines, equipment, structures and systems as necessary

●     Check functionality of safety systems (e.g fire alarm)

●     Reporting clearly and regularly with status updates.

●     Programming works with critical path items and coordinating this with key stakeholders.

●     Responsible for preventative maintenance.

●     Scope, procure, appoint and manage contractors on site for maintenance, repair or remodeling work.

Skills & work experience

●     Proven maintenance experience.

●     Related degree from a technical college.

●     Competent in English, both written and spoken

●     Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems

●     Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

●     Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.

●     Ability to take apart machines, equipment & devices to repair

●     Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.

●     Experience performing routine maintenance and an eye for detail

●     Strong organisational and communication skills.

●     Professional presentation and attitude.

●     Strong time management skills and focus while working individually

●     Knowledgeable on Health and Safety working practices
